Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is proud of its rotational Resident Yoga Instructor-Massage Therapist Program. Every month we host a highly qualified yoga instructor/massage therapist to live at the lodge and provide yoga classes and massage therapy to guests daily.

The intensity of our multisport premises makes our yoga classes and massage therapy services the perfect potion to replenish your vitality and enable you to
enjoy and discover further.

Yoga classes are based on the
teachings of Iyengar, Kripalu and
Kundalini Yoga. Each session is an
opportunity to explore the body through
cultivating a connection to breath and
movement, building flexibility and
strength through alignment principles,
and exploring the wisdom of the body
through self expression and attunement
to prana. Participation fee varies
according to format:
    » $15 Group Sessions
    » $30 Individual Sessions

Therapeutic massage may be arranged
upon request in the privacy of your cabin
or on the beach; making it a perfect
reward after a challenging day of exploration and activities.
» Fee per massage hour is $65.

Both our yoga & massage services are provided by an ongoing schedule of certified and highly experienced resident instructors.

March 15 – May 1, 2008 Christel Pierron

Christel PierronOriginally from France, then Montreal, Christel Pierron is a dancer, a certified massage therapist (Esalen, Reiki, Reflexology) and a certified yoga teacher, as well as a Yoga Meets Dance instructor. Christel has been studying several forms of yoga over the years such as Sivananda, Kripalu, Iyengar and Kundalini Yoga (in the Yogi Bhajan tradition). She concentrated her study in “Zen Yoga/Yoga Energetique” during 6 years and received teacher training in Montreal with her late master Benie Deswarte (inspired with the Master Masunaga’s Zen shiatsu tradition) in 2003. Christel now lives in Cape Cod, Ma where she offers massage, practices Soto Zen meditation, and teaches yoga, creative movement, chanting meditation classes and various workshops to children and adults. At Nicuesa, she will guide you in the powerful experience of the present moment, riding the wave of the breath, and connecting with the energy body, moving slowly into mindful stretches, traditional Hatha Yoga poses, and meditation.
